Yorkie Rescue of America is a federally recognized pending 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. All donations made to YROA are tax deductible. All of the donations go towards the care of our dogs. Once we receive a dog, we provide medical care, microchip and spay or neuter if necessary.

Adopt a Yorkshire Terrier

Rescue dogs may have some "issues" to work through (we will advise you of any "issues" a dog has prior to adoption). These dogs are often very scared and unsure of where they belong. There may be some training needed or some bad habits to correct, however, rescue dogs usually have plenty of love, affection and gratitude to give back. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing that you saved a dog!

Placing a rescued Yorkie in a safe and loving home is our number one priority. Besides assessing the Yorkie for its needs, we also assess potential homes to assure that the environment and caregivers will be able to provide the right balance of love and attention that each and every Yorkie deserves. We are always searching for that special person or family that is willing to open up their home and is ready to be smothered with love by these most wonderful pets. Please remember.......our first and ONLY consideration is the safety and happiness of our Yorkies.

Yorkie Rescue of America is a 501(c)(3) Non Profit Organization. Documentation can be provided upon request. All donations made to Yorkie Rescue of America are tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes. We are funded 100% by our volunteers and the generosity of others.

Please keep in mind all donation amounts are appreciated. There is no donation to big or too small. Many of the Yorkies that come from the shelters are in very poor condition and need lots of medical care before we can place them in their furever home.

Yorkie Rescue of America is currently looking for foster homes. Foster homes provide us with the opportunity to get to know our dogs before we place them in permanent homes.  It provides us with the opportunity to rehabilitate, train and socialize our dogs prior to being adopted into their furever home. Fostering can be a great way to volunteer and help the dogs. By being a foster, allows us to be able to rescue more Yorkshire terriers. Fostering can also be a lot of work, but totally worth it when you see the joy on the faces of their adopter when they are ready to go home!
