In the year 2000 my passion met my purpose. From a tragic car accident I inherited Tiger, Lily, Curtis, and Grace, the best four Yorkies in the world. I loved them more than anything, they were my life. Tragedy struck in 2003. Tiger died at the age of 6 to an allergic reaction to propofol while having his teeth cleaned. In 2010, Curtis passed away at the age of 16 due to an injury he sustained while in the hospital, and as a result developed pancreatitis. The following year in 2011, Lily passed away from kidney failure at the age of 12, and the following year in 2012, Grace passed away from a stroke at the age of 16.

Each of my Yorkies had a distinct personality and taught me something valuable. Tiger was full of life, he had no fear, he was always up for fun and having a good time, he lived in the moment.  Curtis was the sweetest, kindest soul, he watched over the girls and protected them. He made sure everyone else was just fine.  Lily was the sweetest, most innocent little one. She did not like to be away from my side, she gave so much love. She was truly a gift. Grace taught me how to be resilient, she had such determination and was such a fighter.  She did not let her size stop her from being the alpha of the pack. What I learned from being their guardian for 12 years, is that I wanted to help other Yorkies in need so in 2011 I founded Yorkie Rescue of America, 501 (c) ( 3) non-profit organization.

Since inception we have rescued and placed over 400 of the most desperate Yorkie cases that you can imagine.    To continue our work, we need your help.
